One of the most effective ways to develop technical facilities is to consistently practice scales, chords, arpeggios, and finger exercises.

For the purposes of fulfilling any exam criteria, such as the National Guild of Piano Teachers National Piano Playing Auditions and the California Music Teachers’ Association Certificate of Merit, students will be expected to demonstrate speed, accuracy, fluency, and evens of touch and tone. The following lessons are a guide to what can be expected at each level.
